Knit caps are characterized by their unique rope-knit pattern. Originally, this rope-knit pattern was used on sweaters, not as headgear.
The sweater originated in the Aran Islands in Ireland, where it was knitted by women and worn as workwear by the island's fishermen. It is also known as the "Aran sweater."
This rope pattern was meant to pray for a safe fishing trip, and each household had a different pattern, so it was treated like a family crest. Therefore, when a man who drowned while fishing was washed up on shore, his identity could be identified by the sweater he was wearing.
The material is 100% wool,
This is a low-gauge knit made from long-haired natural wool.
The natural rough texture of wool creates a voluminous silhouette.
It has a rope knit pattern, so even if you own a regular knit cap, you'll find it gives you a fresh feeling when wearing it.
