The most distinctive feature of this newspaper cap is that it is made of waxed cotton. Waxed cotton is said to have originated in England in the past, when fishermen and sailors used it to work in heavy rain and wind, by soaking the cotton in oil to make it waterproof and warm.
This bag is made with oiled cotton fabric from Miralaine, a leading manufacturer of waxed cotton. The lining has a Miralaine tag attached.
The design is based on the style of a newsboy cap, a type often worn by newspaper delivery boys during the Great Depression in the U.S. Among DOG's newsboy caps, this one has less volume and is easier to wear, more like a cap.
It has a brushed lining, so it can be used mainly in autumn and winter.
