We’ve taken the already sharp-angled design and made it even more pointed, while scaling it down slightly. The pocket is intentionally positioned a bit lower on the shirt.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe’ve incorporated a 1970s sleeve pattern with curved seams and three-dimensional cutting to eliminate excess slack and ensure the sleeves hug the arms snugly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSingle-stitch sewing—commonly used on vintage T-shirts—is applied to the hem and sleeve cuffs. This technique is also known as “tenchi” stitching. When viewed from the outside, the stitches appear as a single dotted line. Compared to the “two-needle flat stitch” commonly found on modern T-shirts—where two parallel stitches run side by side—this method is said to offer high strength while maintaining a subtle appearance. However, it requires skilled craftsmanship and is inefficient to produce, making it a rare detail that is seldom used today.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe tubular knit design, where the fabric is not split from the side seams to the hem, is commonly seen in vintage T-shirts. In Japan, only a limited number of mills are now capable of weaving this type of fabric using specialized warp-knitting machines.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe collar (neckline) features a thick, chunky ribbed finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA key feature of the fabric is the use of BD (open-end yarn).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs is common in the U.S., this is also called “open-end yarn.” This open-end yarn was frequently used in jeans and T-shirts in the U.S. from the late 1980s through the 1990s. The yarn has a rough, rustic feel and creates a crisp, textured finish.
